MEOW Helps eBay Reach Milestone

Recently, MEOW Cat Rescue played a pivotal role in a significant eBay milestone. EBay recently announced that the eBay Community has raised over $100 million for charitable organizations, from listings worldwide!

Sandy Byers, a self-representing artist in Washington, listed an item with eBay Giving Works, eBay's dedicated charity listing program, and elected to donate a portion of the final sale price to us. In Massachusetts, a buyer named Marcia purchased the painting. After she paid Sandy for the painting, Sandy donated a percentage to MEOW. This donation pushed the total amount of funds raised for nonprofits on eBay over the $100 million mark!

People often view the internet as impersonal. However, the heart of eBay is person-to-person contact. With eBay Giving Works and its partnership with MissionFish, this contact extends these relationships to include and directly benefit non-profit organizations. EBay Giving Works makes online philanthropy quick, easy and safe. What a wonderful opportunity for those wishing to support their favorite charity. What an incredible benefit this avenue is for the charities involved. We at MEOW Cat Rescue feel so fortunate to be participants in something so powerful and so accessible.
