Cat Stuck In A Tree?
Please do not call your local fire department as their mission is to save human lives and property. They do not rescue cats. You need to contact an arborist, someone with the training and expertise to safely climb a tree and retrieve a frightened cat. Below is a list of certified arborists who are also animal lovers. We generally think of cats as natural tree climbers. There may be a common belief that if the cat can get up the tree, it can get down. Unfortunately, this is not necessarily true. When a cat becomes stuck in a tree, it is important to get them down as soon as possible. In as little time as a day or two, the cat can become dehydrated and weak. Additionally there is always a threat that the cat will fall prey to a predator. Allowing the animal to remain in the tree for several days is life-threatening.
